KEVIN G. KETT, MD ASSUMES THE ICANL PRESIDENCY

At the Winter 2007 Board meeting in February,
Kevin G. Kett, MD assumed the role of President
of the ICANL Board of Directors.
Dr. Kett is Medical Director of the Cardiac
Diagnostic Center at Cardiology Associates of Waterbury,
Connecticut. He currently attends at Waterbury Hospital
and St. Mary's Hospital, and is Clinical Instructor at
Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Kett earned his BS at Georgetown
University in Washington, DC, and his MD at State University
of New York. Both his residency in Internal Medicine and
his cardiology fellowship were completed at New England
Deaconess Hospital in Boston where Dr. Kett served as
Clinical Instructor at the Harvard University School of
Medicine. He has served on the imaging advisory committee
for the Connecticut State Medical Society.

Reflecting
on his goals as he begins his presidential term, Dr. Kett stated,
"For the past decade, the ICANL has maintained an unrelenting
commitment to competence and quality in nuclear imaging. My
goal over the next two years is to build on this platform of
quality with further emphasis on value. It will be through attention
to appropriate testing and standardized reporting that we continue,
as a peer review organization, to fulfill the needs of our medical
community. All of our efforts have provided, and will continue
to provide, a foundation, standard and goals for high quality
health care."

JEROME, DO, FACC

Scott D. Jerome, DO, FACC joins
the ICANL as a representative of the American Society
of Nuclear Cardiology. Upon receiving his medical degree
with honors from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic
Medicine, Dr. Jerome completed his residency at Sinai
Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and his cardiology fellowship
at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Today
Dr. Jerome is Director of Cardiac Imaging at Midatlantic
Cardiovascular Associates, PA in Baltimore, Maryland,
and is also Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic at
Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. Currently
Dr. Jerome holds several teaching positions, including
Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland. In
addition to ASNC, Dr. Jerome is a member of the Society
of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the American
College of Physicians, and is a Fellow of the American
College of Cardiology. Dr. Jerome has co-authored numerous
publications and abstracts, and is one of the contributors
to the recently published Appropriateness Criteria
For SPECT Imaging.

A FOND FAREWELL
The ICANL Board of Directors and staff bid a
fond farewell to Stefanie Margulies, NCT, CNMT, RT(N).
Ms. Margulies joined the ICANL as its first-ever Technical Manager
in October 2003. Also an active member of the American Society
of Nuclear Cardiology, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and
the Mideaster Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Section, Ms. Margulies represented the ICANL and worked to educate
others in the nuclear medicine community about the concept and
importance of accreditation over the past four years. The ICANL
wishes to thank Ms. Margulies for her commitment, efforts and
contributions to the organization.

a general question about laboratory accreditation, or you are
new to the entire process, ICANL technical personnel and staff

The past several months have been an exciting
time of growth for the ICANL! We look forward to introducing

THE NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
At
the February meeting, the ICANL Board of Directors made several
additional changes to its Executive Committee, in accordance
with the two-year terms that are served by the offices of President,
President-Elect, and Immediate Past-President. The ICANL extends
sincere gratitude to Gary V. Heller, MD for his hard work and
dedication while serving as President from 2005 - 2007. Congratulations
to the new ICANL Executive Committee, effective February 2007:
