As one of the busiest nuclear cardiology laboratories in the
state of Connecticut, Danbury Hospital places a great
deal of value on quality patient care. Tom Halpin, CNMT, the
laboratory's Technical Director, described the facility's philosophy:
"At Danbury Hospital, we have made a great investment in
nuclear cardiology -- state-of-the-art equipment, qualified
staff, and a comfortable environment for our patients. The ICANL
process helped us review all of our procedures and documentation.
Items were found that needed to be updated and addressed. No
matter how well we think we do things, there is always room
for improvement."
When
the nuclear cardiology laboratory at Danbury Hospital earned
accreditation, the staff was looking for a powerful way to communicate
their achievement. Halpin explained, "After attaining the
accreditation, we felt it would be appropriate to inform our
patient and physician community about the service we provide
-- the brochure seemed to be the perfect way to accomplish this."

Danbury's
brochure is written and designed with patients in mind.
In addition to promoting the accreditation status front
and center, the brochure clearly defines nuclear cardiology,
providing details of the types of tests performed, defining
and outlining the preparation for myocardial perfusion
imaging and explaining that the radiation exposure used
in nuclear cardiology tests is safe.
Danbury
Hospital is also accredited by the ICANL in both General
Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography (PET).
