The Latest From The Board Of Directors

from the August 2006 issue

Effective immediately, the following changes have taken place:

  • Those laboratories applying for reaccreditation will be automatically delayed if the Medical and/or Technical staff have not met the CME requirement.
  • The provisional grant allows accreditation for a limited one-year timeframe during which the deficiencies identified in the decision letter sent to the laboratory must be corrected and documented. Following the receipt and review of the corrected material, the accreditation status will change to three years, from the original date of decision, and a new certificate will be issued.
  • The provisional grant will be issued for a limited one-year timeframe for first-time applicants who have not completed the CME requirement.

In compliance with our policy, the ICANL reminds reaccredited laboratories that they automatically receive a 60-day grace period if they are delayed for any reason, provided their application is received by the deadline identified.
