The
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) begins
its mandatory Continuing Education Policy on January 1, 2006.
Certificants must begin acquiring credits at that time.
In
2006, odd-year Certificants will be required to collect 12 continuing
education hours (CEH) to report on their 2007 certification
renewal. In 2006-2007, even-year Certificants will be required
to collect 24 CEH to report on their 2008 certification renewal.
In 2007-2008, odd-year Certificants will be required to collect
24 CEH to report on their 2009 certification renewal.
To
assist Certificants with record keeping, the NMTCB is working
with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and other professional
organizations to implement automatic reporting of continuing
education credits, such as VOICE credits, to facilitate the
renewal process. The NMTCB hopes to have that program implemented
prior to the 2006 renewal period.
The
NMTCB website, www.nmtcb.org,
contains the Continuing Education Policy, including the most
recent list of NMTCB-approved CE organizations.
